The instructions for the creation of authority records are available in English. However, as language is at the center of our methodology, \u02bb\u014clelo Hawai\u02bbi and \u02bbike Hawai\u02bbi are necessary to create records and enter the required fields.                                               <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we build capacity within metadata and descriptive work, and in libraries generally, we envision the instructions and processes for record creation and maintenance to be available in both \u02bb\u014clelo Hawai\u02bbi and English.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A note on sources: In creating authority records, it is important to rely on trusted sources. Context is also important, as <\/strong>Ka Wai H\u0101pai is working to center Indigenous perspectives. Take care in evaluating resources and prefer those that show an understanding of <\/strong>\u02bbike Hawai\u02bbi. You will find a list of potential resources for records in the akua domain following the list of field names. This is by no means exhaustive, but a starting point for research, giving a sampling of resources used to create the current terms. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
