In Fall 2013, the new\u00a0UHM LIS Web\u00a0Team captain, Kimberly Jackson<\/a> assessed how her fellow\u00a0LIS students were being offered information and decided to create\u00a0an official Web Team YouTube channel\u00a0in order to reach students more effectively. With busy schedules, varying class times and families, it was difficult to set up dates for face-to-face workshops.<\/p>\n

As a result, this YouTube channel has enabled\u00a0the\u00a0Web Team to not only reach fellow students in the LIS program but also thousands of people around the world. Although the majority of these videos were created to teach technical skills which would compliment \u00a0the LIS curriculum, there are also videos which answer\u00a0various common technical questions\u00a0as well as general LIS student questions.<\/p>\n

However, with\u00a0all the great content being offered on this channel, there is one video that was posted in September 2013\u00a0which\u00a0has received over 25,600 hits<\/strong> and this number is growing daily!<\/p>\n

This tutorial (as seen below)\u00a0specifically addresses the simple task of how to embed a video into a PowerPoint slide using a Mac, and was born out of the frustration with proprietary restraints for\u00a0Microsoft software features\u00a0as used on Mac products.<\/p>\n
