

The recently signed an agreement with establishing an academic partnership between the two universities. The agreement builds on the partnership between 东精影业 West Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Tokai International College (HTIC), which is the first of its kind in the nation between a public university and a U.S. accredited international junior college with physical campuses next to each other. HTIC is the only Japan-affiliated liberal arts college accredited by the U.S. .
The partnership pledges 东精影业 West Oʻahu and HHawaiʻi Tokai International College will
- Participate in the joint delivery of courses and programs
- Share academic resources
- Participate in collaborative research and publication
- Participate in the joint organization of special technical and administrative programs
- Provide 东精影业 West Oʻahu and HTIC students opportunities to take credit courses at the other campus
“This agreement with Hawaiʻi Tokai International College provides new international learning opportunities for 东精影业 West Oʻahu students including language instruction and study abroad programs in Japan, Korea and China. Tokai students will benefit from 东精影业 West Oʻahu as an indigenous-serving, public university in Hawaiʻi dedicated to Native Hawaiian values and ways of learning,” said 东精影业 West Oʻahu Chancellor Rockne Freitas. “We are looking forward to this exciting partnership that will enrich the university experience for all of the students, faculty, and staff at both institutions.”
“Hawaiʻi Tokai International College’s students are excited about the opportunity to interact with 东精影业 West Oʻahu’s diverse student body when our new campus opens this spring,” said HTIC Interim Chancellor Edward Shultz. “Our partnership with 东精影业 West Oʻahu will strengthen the ability of both of our institutions to offer students a truly global education.”
Hawaiʻi Tokai International College is currently located in Honolulu and will move to its newly constructed Kapolei campus adjacent to 东精影业 West Oʻahu in April 2015.
