Mahalo for replying to my comment. My point is that children can be misjudged in their capabilities to achieve if educators mistakenly categorize them. My high school guidance counseler advised me to become a secretary instead of attending college. I then went on to achieve a masters degree and became an educator. Hopefully, I will never give my students the wrong advice. Achievement is possible at any intellectual level. Please know I am 100 percent for the UH study.

Babs, I see your idea here and this is very true it does give someone an excuse but with studies like this, societies can better serve their own communities if they had a system that kept a minimum of income for each family size and education opportunities to PREVENT this. People would never know then and will not be hindered in life by their lack of education and income because there will be NO LACK. Some can say that being in poverty IS WHY THEY NEVER WANTED TO STAY IN POVERTY like possibly Branson motivated them to raise themselves out of it. These people are not the ones this study can help but those that can’t seem to get out of the poverty cycle.

You were still a child and your brain developing and education intervention of your school counselor gave you excellent advice. The thing is you were teachable enough to listen to your school counselor too. You were very smart to do this!

This is actually something that I woke up thinking of this morning! We on planet earth have PLENTY of everything we ALL need and some!!!! It is up to us to organize ourselves to work in harmony with one another to prevent the misuse of what we have to make a difference in all the lives of one another in this whole world. Research like this is what compels people such as Bill Gates to challenge other billionaires to give away half of their wealth to the prevention of issues of poverty, illness, injustice, etc. in the world. This is great but as most of us can not do this… we can work together in smaller ways around the world to ease the effects of poverty by sharing, cooperation, communication, education, etc. Research like this needs to be spotlighted on the news and in media. The more we notice our problems and not over look societies problems is when we can truly be accountable of the good in the world that is being done and not done. We truly are our brothers keepers and as Jesus taught for us to LOVE ONE ANOTHER not ignore/overlook/despise/use etc. the poor. It gives us an opportunity to serve as He did/does. It is up to us to take charge of this knowledge and do something. What will you do? What do you suggest?

YEAH!!! I think this is incredible. THANKS FOR THIS STUDY!!! It is proof to move forward in prevention of poverty in our state and country and world. I have known this my whole life and now that it is proven scientifically, it can be better for the world at large to deal with these issues as a perspective to heal/nurture/improve our society by truly making it a common goal to build people up and bring them out of the horrors of poverty!!! Thanks so much for this wonderful research!!!! PURE BRILLIANCE!!!!!

Your research is credible, necessary, and important. If money can be infused into a poor child’s life and make a difference in their future and the future of our country i am all for it. Raising the minimum is long overdue.
