EGU is Europe’s premier geosciences union—dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the geosciences and the planetary and space sciences for the benefit of humanity. The recipients of the 2016 awards, from both European and non-European countries, are honored for their important contributions to the Earth, planetary and space sciences.
Earlier this year, Stuecker completed his doctorate degree at the 东精影业 Mānoa (SOEST). His research focuses on understanding the fundamental dynamics of climate variability on various timescales and how this knowledge might help to improve predictions, especially in the tropics and the monsoon regions. The honorees will receive their prizes at the EGU 2016 General Assembly, which will take place in Vienna, Austria on April 17–22, 2016.
