The proudly released its second student-designed West is Best T-shirt to the public.
The winning design, with 1,919 votes from an online public poll, came from senior and Roosevelt High School graduate Melissa Lum. Lum received a grand prize of an $100 东精影业 Bookstores gift card and a West is Best T-shirt with her design.
“My thoughts were to create a design that is clean and modern and that everyone can read,” she?said.
Lum applied typography skills learned in her 东精影业 West Oʻahu creative media coursework to present West is Best in a bold, sans serif font below the 东精影业 West Oʻahu seal.
The 2015 campus shirt contest was open to student designs only. 东精影业 West Oʻahu Bookstore manager Kory Uramoto-Wong plans to repeat the contest for a third time in fall 2016.
“I’m going to start a collection of these shirts, with winners’ autographs,” Uramoto-Wong said. “I’m creating a wall of fame in our store.”
