The University of Hawaiʻi campuses joined universities across the country and the world to celebrate International Education Week, November 13–17. 东精影业 campus events recognized the contributions of international education to cross cultural understanding and global cooperation.

In its 18th year, International Education Week was a joint initiative by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, and observed at universities nationally and internationally.

large group in the governor's office with proclamationDuring the week-long celebration, Gov. David Ige proclaimed November 16 International Education Day. In his remarks, the governor noted Hawaiʻi’s distinctiveness, with both cultural and geographic diversity, a welcoming place for international students and a study destination for the future.

东精影业ing the proclamation event at the state capitol were special guests from the Study Hawaiʻi Press Tour, a media tour of seven journalists from key press outlets in Asia, Latin America and Europe. The group spent time visiting campuses on Oʻahu, Maui and Hawaiʻi Island to get a sense of the breadth of educational opportunities for international students in Hawaiʻi .
