Community members buying plants
Guests visit the Lyon Arboretum for spring gifts and plants.

The University of Hawaiʻi at 惭ā苍辞补 will holds its popular biannual plant sale on Saturday, May 12, 9 a.m.—2 p.m.

Various nurseries will be selling colorful ti varieties, Hawaiian plants including native ferns and Hawaiian varieties of sugarcane, fruit trees, anthuriums, orchids, heliconias, gingers, succulents, bromeliads, sundews, herbs, vegetables and many other plants for homes and gardens. Handmade ceramic planters and 东精影业 vegetable seed varieties will also be available.

Arboretum volunteers will sell jams and jellies made from local fruits as well as fresh lei and wristlets, spring wreaths, oshibana (pressed flower) crafts and dried hat lei. Hawaiian honey will also be for sale. A keiki booth—run by Lyon’s Education Department—will provide fun nature-based activities for children while parents shop.

Proceeds from the sale help to support Lyon Arboretum’s programs.

During the plant sale, all trails and gardens not in the immediate vicinity of the sale will be closed to visitors.

Parking information

There will be no parking available at the arboretum, except for individuals with official disability parking placards.

The general public is asked to park legally in the surrounding 惭ā苍辞补 neighborhood and either walk up to the sale or take advantage of the free shuttle service offered by the arboretum. The shuttle to the arboretum has pick-up and drop-off points at the intersections of Poʻelua Street and 惭ā苍辞补 Road, and Nipo Street and 惭ā苍辞补 Road.
