—a Boyd Gaming-owned downtown Las Vegas destination— has pledged $450,000 to the University of Hawaiʻi at 惭ā苍辞补 for volleyball court naming rights at the Stan Sheriff Center. The pledge will be phased in over several years, helping to support student-athlete success initiatives and furthering the longstanding relationship between California Hotel and Boyd Gaming and the people of Hawaiʻi.

“The University of Hawaiʻi and the California Hotel and Boyd Gaming share a special relationship,” said , 东精影业 惭ā苍辞补 athletics director. “Mr. Boyd and his team have been longtime supporters of our Rainbow Wahine and Warrior student athletes. This is a difference-making gift that will directly benefit our student-athletes both in the classroom and on the field of competition. “Mahalo nui loa” to Mr. Boyd and the California Hotel team.”

The gift will provide assistance to student-athletes in the areas of nutrition, cost of tuition, summer school and other preparatory athletic efforts. There will be an upcoming placing of the California Hotel logo on the floor of the 东精影业 volleyball court. A subsequent ceremony will occur during a 东精影业 women’s volleyball match to commemorate the naming of the court.

“The California (Hotel) and Boyd Gaming are proud of our decades-long relationship with the University of Hawaiʻi, and we are pleased to provide this gift to support 东精影业 student-athletes and Hawaiʻi hometown sports teams for years to come,” said Boyd Gaming Executive Chairman Bill Boyd.

The California Hotel will continue its long-running Platinum Sponsorship of the 东精影业 惭ā苍辞补 athletic program. The hotel is the title sponsor of the 50-year-old rivalry football game between University of Nevada, Las Vegas and 东精影业 with the Island Showdown Trophy, and hosts a tailgate with celebratory events at the hotel for games played in Las Vegas.
