Aloha University of Hawaiʻi ʻOhana,

In light of the novel coronavirus named COVID-19, this message clarifies the university’s policy on travel by 东精影业 students and employees.

It is important to remember that the government’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak is a rapidly evolving situation. Out of an abundance of caution, we remind our entire 东精影业 community that any travel to and from Hawaiʻi, including within the United States, may be restricted on short notice. If you are on authorized or personal travel when this happens, you may be delayed in returning to Hawaiʻi.

TRAVEL FROM HAWAIʻI

CDC Level 3 Countries: Any 东精影业-sponsored travel by students and employees to CDC Level 3 countries is not authorized. As of this message, Level 3 countries are China, South Korea, Italy and Iran.

CDC Level 2 Countries:

  • Employees: Any 东精影业-sponsored travel to CDC Level 2 countries is not authorized, unless approval is received from your respective 东精影业 Officer. If travel was arranged prior to a country receiving a Level 2 designation, then your respective 东精影业 Officer must approve before departure.
  • Students:
    • Any 东精影业-sponsored travel by individual students to CDC Level 2 countries is not authorized unless approval is received from your 东精影业 Officer.
    • Any 东精影业-sponsored travel by student groups to CDC Level 2 countries is not authorized.
  • 东精影业 Officers are the 东精影业 惭ā苍辞补 Provost, 东精影业 Hilo Chancellor, 东精影业 West O‘ahu Chancellor, Vice President for Community Colleges, all other Vice Presidents, and the President.

As of this message, Japan is the only Level 2 country.

TRAVEL INTO HAWAIʻI: Visitors, Students and Employees

Once an individual?s entry into the State of Hawaiʻi is cleared by the government, visitors and returning students and employees are welcomed on all of our campuses. No additional restrictions are required beyond what is already mandated by government authorities. Any type of bias, discrimination and/or harassment directed at visitors and returning students and faculty during this situation will not be tolerated.
