
An international search has officially begun for the next director of the .
The 东精影业 Cancer Center is one of 71 National Cancer Institute-designated centers and the only one in Hawaiʻi and the Pacific. The center’s mission is to reduce the burden of cancer through research, education, patient care, clinical trials and community outreach with an emphasis on the unique ethnic, cultural and environmental characteristics of Hawaiʻi and the Pacific. The center is committed to work toward the development and utilization of new and unique innovative cancer control approaches for the health of the people of Hawaiʻi and the world.
Jill Hoggard Green, president and CEO of Queen’s Health Systems, and Lee Buenconsejo-Lum, associate dean for academic affairs at 东精影业 Manoa’s John A. Burns School of Medicine, are co-chairing the search advisory committee. The committee members include a chair, faculty, staff and students from several 东精影业 惭ā苍辞补 units, as well as representatives from the Kualiʻi Council, alumni and the health industry community.
The committee will recommend finalists to 东精影业 惭ā苍辞补 Provost Michael Bruno, who will then recommend a nominee to 东精影业 President David Lassner.

Review of applications will begin in October 2021 and will continue until the position is filled.
An interim director is currently serving in the position after Randall Holcombe stepped down on August 1.
