The University of Hawaiʻi at 惭ā苍辞补 joins in celebrating the diversity of the LGBTQ+ communities in Hawaiʻi on National Coming Out Day, Monday, October 11. The center is a co-sponsor of a community resource fair as part of , 5–7 p.m. via Zoom. Learn about LGBTQ+ resources, reconnect with friends and make new connections. .
The resource fair will feature more than 40 community organizations, local drag talent including Haus of Del Rey, and a chance to win various prizes. There will also be breakout sessions for various topics and groups, including:
- Advocacy, law and politics
- Faith and spirituality
- Health and wellness
- Jobs, industry and inclusion
- Parents and families
- Social and fun
- Transgender and Māhū
- Youth and education
“It can take courage to live with pride in our LGBTQ+ community. Sometimes people might try to make us feel like we don’t have the right to be ourselves. At 东精影业 惭ā苍辞补 you have protections as a member of the LGBTQ+ community,” said Camaron Miyamoto, director of the LGBTQ+ Center.
