
The University of Hawaiʻi ʻohana answered the call to “Come Together” for the second year of 东精影业 Giving Tuesday, raising $245,639 from 1,209 donors and more than tripling the efforts of the ’s inaugural Giving Tuesday last year.

“We are grateful for the generosity of the 东精影业 community this year, which has been nothing short of amazing,” 东精影业 Vice President of Advancement and 东精影业 Foundation CEO Tim Dolan said. “Thank you to each and every one of the donors who came together for the second 东精影业 Giving Tuesday. Every gift makes an impact, especially to the students, faculty and researchers who work so hard to make UH such a special place.”
The gifts included nearly $70,000 in matching funds, including $25,000 from 东精影业 President David Lassner, who challenged the drive to draw 1,000 gifts, $20,000 from 东精影业 Athletics Director David Matlin and his wife, Dana, and matching funds from campus administrators, alumni and friends.
Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as an American day of philanthropy and giving in response to the consumerism of Black Friday and the holidays. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity.
