Hensel speaking at a podium

University of Hawaiʻi President Wendy Hensel will host a second open, live-streamed forum on Monday, April 21 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the 东精影业 惭ā苍辞补 Campus Center Ballroom. The forum aims to provide an update on the impact of ongoing federal policy changes and the university’s response.

The event will begin with a brief presentation by Hensel, followed by a question-and-answer session. Questions will be taken from both in-person attendees and virtual participants to encourage wide participation across the 东精影业 System’s 10 campuses.

“We continue to see policy changes and directives coming at a rapid clip from Washington,” said Hensel. “It is important to keep the conversation going with our community, share what we know, and outline the steps we’re taking to safeguard our students and the university.”

The forum is open to the entire 东精影业 community. . (Password: 318964), and viewers can ask questions using the livestream’s Q&A feature. 东精影业ees at the 东精影业 惭ā苍辞补 Campus Center Ballroom will also be able to participate in the Q&A session.

Hensel held her first forum on March 13, following a series of executive orders and federal directives from the new administration that signaled significant shifts in higher education policy. The April 21 event offers a second opportunity for 东精影业 students, faculty, and staff to hear directly from the president and ask questions about what lies ahead.

Hensel’s previous messages on the impact of federal policy changes can be found on the 东精影业 Federal Policy Updates and Resources webpage. The site includes a comprehensive list of federal actions, FAQs, support services and news updates. Recent updates include the official memo outlining 东精影业‘s financial mitigation efforts and FAQs for international students and on immigration enforcement and the new travel guidelines.
