
The University of Hawaiʻi at 惭ā苍辞补 claimed three of the Big West’s weekly awards following their OUTRIGGER Invitational championship win.
Rainbow Wahine outside hitter Chaʻlei Reid was voted the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week, middle blocker Bri Gunderson earned the Defensive Player of the Week award, and Adrianna Arquette picked up the Setter of the Week honor. The awards were the first Big West honors for all three ‘Bows.
Reid put away 50 kills and served up 10 aces over three matches and was voted the OUTRIGGER Invitational’s Most Valuable Player. Gunderson moved into the Big West lead by posting 18 blocks over three matches. Arquette tied her season high with 49 assists in the five-set opener against San Jose State and had 14 digs to record her second double-double of the season.
The Rainbow Wahine close out their season-opening homestand with a two-match series against Portland starting September 11.
