Her research focuses on precipitation and groundwater connectivity between Hawaiian aquifers, and her scientific goal is the intersection of indigenous knowledge and the scientific process to create sustainable water resource management within the state.<\/p>\n<p>Tachera earned her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.soest.hawaii.edu\/GG\/academics\/gg_undergraduate.html\">bachelor&#8217;s degree in geology and geophysics<\/a> at <abbr title=\"东精影业\">东精影业<\/abbr> M&#257;noa. As an undergraduate, she participated in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.soest.hawaii.edu\/maile\/wp\/\">Maile Mentoring Program<\/a>, a campaign to support native Hawaiian students pursuing <abbr title=\"Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics\">STEM<\/abbr> degrees through mentorship.
