{"id":112840,"date":"2020-03-09T16:05:29","date_gmt":"2020-03-10T02:05:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/?p=112840"},"modified":"2020-03-09T16:05:29","modified_gmt":"2020-03-10T02:05:29","slug":"hfwf-uh-beneficiaries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2020\/03\/09\/hfwf-uh-beneficiaries\/","title":{"rendered":"<abbr title=\"东精影业\">东精影业<\/abbr> culinary programs receive Hawai\u2018i Food &#038; Wine Festival donations"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> &lt; 1<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minute<\/span><\/span><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/system-culinary-hfwf.jpg\" alt=\"group photo with big check\" width=\"676\" height=\"381\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-112843\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/system-culinary-hfwf.jpg 676w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/system-culinary-hfwf-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/system-culinary-hfwf-130x73.jpg 130w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 676px) 100vw, 676px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/uhcc.hawaii.edu\/culinary\/\">Culinary Institute of the Pacific<\/a> and four community college programs are among the beneficiaries of the 2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiifoodandwinefestival.com\/\"><span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Food &#38; Wine Festival<\/a> (<abbr>HFWF<\/abbr>), which recently announced donations totaling $413,580 to local culinary, agricultural and community organizations statewide.<\/p>\n<p><abbr title=\"东精影业\">东精影业<\/abbr> beneficiaries included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Culinary Institute of the Pacific&#8212;$80,000<\/li>\n<li><span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Community College Culinary Program&#8212;$7,000<\/li>\n<li><span aria-label=\"Kapiolani\">Kapi&#699;olani<\/span> Community College Culinary Arts Program&#8212;$55,000<\/li>\n<li>Leeward Community College Culinary Program&#8212;$25,000<\/li>\n<li><abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> Maui College Culinary Arts Program&#8212;$20,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&ldquo;<abbr>HFWF<\/abbr> has been a huge and critical supporter of our <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> culinary programs, which educate incoming employees for the hospitality sector across the islands of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> through our statewide system of public higher education,&rdquo; said <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> President <strong>David Lassner<\/strong>. &ldquo;In addition to providing financial support for our programs and the construction of the Culinary Institute of the Pacific, <abbr>HFWF<\/abbr> has enabled us to provide our culinary students with once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to work side by side with world-class chefs.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Beneficiaries were recognized at a mahalo reception held in March.
