Ka Manaʻo<\/a><\/em>,<\/span> Leeward Community College’s student magazine, placed sixth among two-year college publications in the Best of Show awards at the Associated Collegiate Press (ACP<\/abbr>)\/College Media Business and Advertising Managers College Journalism Convention in San Francisco in February.<\/p>\n

\"Ka<\/p>\n

Leeward CC<\/abbr> sent five students and an adviser to the three-day convention that attracted hundreds of college students from across the country. The Best of Show awards were open to colleges attending the convention. This is the second time Ka Manaʻo<\/span><\/em> has been recognized in a Best of Show category.<\/p>\n

¶«¾«Ó°Òµing were Gerald Soria<\/strong>, editor in chief; Nicholas Espinosa<\/strong>, associate editor; Cato Winkler<\/strong>, design editor; Shaina-Marie Iloreta<\/strong>, photo editor; and Joseph Wargo<\/strong>, writer. Stanley Lee<\/strong>, Ka Manaʻo<\/span> adviser, accompanied the group and also led a panel discussion for first-year advisers.<\/p>\n

The ACP<\/abbr>, is a national community of collegiate journalism,media advisers and students. A division of the National Scholastic Press Association, ACP<\/abbr> provides journalism education services to students, teachers, media advisers and others throughout the United States and in other countries.<\/p>\n
