The <a href=\"http:\/\/jalapenoapp.com\">JalapeNO! app<\/a> works for the Fitbit Ionic. The device will vibrate anytime your hand comes near your face.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I hope it will be a fun way for people to practice good discipline when it comes to hygiene and face touching,&rdquo; Binsted said.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uhfoundation.org\/give\/giving-opportunity\/covid-19\">Support the <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> Student Relief fund and COVID-19 research<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/manoa-jalapeno-app-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"Jalapeno app on Fitbit\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-113906\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/manoa-jalapeno-app-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/manoa-jalapeno-app-130x130.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/manoa-jalapeno-app.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>She is currently teaching a class on Design for Mobile Devices in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ics.hawaii.edu\/\">information and computer sciences department<\/a>, but designed JalapeNO! as a personal project. According to Binsted, on average, office workers touch their faces 23 times per hour.<\/p>\n<p>Binsted said, &ldquo;What we often do is we brainstorm around a problem and think about how could mobile devices help with that problem?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>JalapeNO! for Fitbit Ionic is currently available for $0.99 at <a href=\"http:\/\/jalapenoapp.com\">jalapenoapp.com<\/a>. Next up, Binsted is developing a version of JalapeNO! for the Apple Watch.<\/p>\n<p>If her name sounds familiar, it may be because she is the principal investigator leading the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/tag\/hi-seas\/\"><span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Space Exploration Analog and Simulation (<abbr>HI-SEAS<\/abbr>) project<\/a>.
