The University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at M\u0101noa<\/a> will receive $3,400,883 in federal funding from the Department of Health and Human Services to support efforts to eliminate COVID-19<\/abbr> disparities among Hawaiʻi<\/span>\u2019s vulnerable populations, including Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders. The funds will be used by 东精影业<\/abbr> to increase COVID-19<\/abbr> testing and disseminate COVID-19<\/abbr> educational curriculum to schools in rural and underserved communities.<\/p>\n

“We must use every public health intervention available to prevent the spread of COVID-19<\/abbr> in our vulnerable populations, and especially to reduce the disparities we\u2019ve seen in the Pacific Islander community,” stated U.S.<\/abbr> Sen. Brian Schatz. “By expanding access to COVID-19<\/abbr> testing and teaching preventative practices to students in rural areas, this grant will help us keep more Hawaiʻi<\/span> families safe. I\u2019m proud that 东精影业<\/abbr> is leading this effort to bring additional resources to areas that need it most.”<\/p>\n

东精影业<\/abbr> will use the new funds to expand testing and outreach programs that have been successful at Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center to four additional community health centers: Waim\u0101nalo Health Center on Oʻahu<\/span>; the Bay Clinic Inc. and H\u0101m\u0101kua-Kohala Health Center on Hawaiʻi<\/span> Island; and the Molokaʻi<\/span> Community Health Center.<\/p>\n

At the same time, 东精影业<\/abbr> will disseminate COVID-19<\/abbr> educational curriculum to community schools to empower students and families to implement preventative practices, encourage testing and help reduce infections.<\/p>\n
