To honor the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died on September 18 at the age of 87, University of Hawaiʻi<\/span><\/a> departments and community organizations will come together to host a Zoom forum on her life and legacy on Friday, October 2 at 3 p.m. Participants can attend the webinar by registering online<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Justice Ginsburg, a long-time friend of 东精影业<\/abbr> Mānoa\u2019s William S. Richardson School of Law<\/a> who visited three times during her Supreme Court years, will be remembered by a line-up of legal experts who will reflect on her remarkable career, and in particular her landmark law practice wins for equal rights.<\/p>\n

Early in her career, Justice Ginsburg affiliated herself with the American Civil Liberties Union which, by the late 1960s, had grown to be the country\u2019s leading civil liberties organization.<\/p>\n

The forum will be moderated by 东精影业<\/abbr> School of Law Dean Camille Nelson<\/strong>. Speakers include: Hawaiʻi<\/span> Supreme Court Associate Justice Sabrina McKenna<\/strong>; New York University law Professor Sylvia Law; Richardson Associate Dean of Student Services Ronette M. Kawakami<\/strong>; and 东精影业<\/abbr> law Professor Andrea Freeman. Additional speakers may join the forum.<\/p>\n
