Though the search for the new director started before the pandemic, it has been decided to restart the process when the university is in a stronger fiscal position.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This was a difficult decision, but one that was necessary,&rdquo; said <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Provost <strong>Michael Bruno<\/strong> as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2020\/10\/20\/institute-for-astronomy-director-finalists\/\">three finalists for the position<\/a> were named on October 20. &ldquo;I plan to work closely with the faculty of the <abbr>IfA<\/abbr> to ensure that their world-class research, instruction and community engagement continues strongly.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>There is a campus-wide budget planning process underway to prepare for the expected state budget shortfall and a post pandemic <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>. <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/provost\/planning-for-post-pandemic-hawaii\/\">Information on the process is available online<\/a>.
