The University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> Student Basic Needs<\/a> site has been completely translated into ʻŌlelo<\/span> Hawaiʻi<\/span> (Hawaiian). The 东精影业<\/abbr> System Basic Needs Committee, in collaboration with Lilinoe Andrews<\/strong>, 东精影业<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span> curriculum specialist, has released the new N\u0101 Pono Ola Haumana<\/a> website. The translated site was created to continue to support 东精影业<\/abbr>\u2019s Native Hawaiian student population, honor the Hawaiian language, and to destigmatize basic needs support for all students.<\/p>\n

The new site features simple search boxes that link students directly to a translated version of Findhelp.org<\/a>, a search engine for accessing a wide range of basic needs resources, including emergency housing, food, childcare and financial support. Students will also find a resource map with the official inoa Hawaiʻi<\/span> (Hawaiian name) of each 东精影业<\/abbr> campus.<\/p>\n

“This new ʻŌlelo<\/span> Hawaiʻi<\/span> resource will help connect our Hawaiian speaking students to resources in the language they may be most comfortable and familiar with,” said Albie Miles<\/strong>, chair of the 东精影业<\/abbr> Basic Needs Committee and assistant professor of sustainable community food systems at 东精影业<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span>.<\/p>\n
