The existing Master Plan was adopted in 2000 with an intended 20-year lifespan.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/maunakea-full-moon-676-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Maunakea and the full moon\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-100685\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/maunakea-full-moon-676-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/maunakea-full-moon-676-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/maunakea-full-moon-676-630x353.jpg 630w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/maunakea-full-moon-676.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> Hilo Center for Maunakea Stewardship Executive Director <strong>Greg Chun<\/strong> will be answering the questions during the forum, which will be livestreamed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/uhmagazine\"><abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> YouTube Channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Everyone has a legitimate interest in what happens to these lands and how they are utilized,&rdquo; said Chun in the September 12 announcement on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2021\/09\/12\/public-input-requested-maunakea-master-plan\/\">the draft of the new Maunakea Master Plan<\/a>. &ldquo;We strongly encourage everyone to play a role in this master plan\u2019s development and tell us what they think.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The public is asked to email their questions to <a href=\"mailto:eforum@hawaii.edu\">eforum@hawaii.edu<\/a> prior to the forum. Questions will be answered during the forum with those questions submitted earliest being the most likely to be addressed.<\/p>\n<p>The public is encouraged to provide feedback on the plan at the <a href=\"https:\/\/maunakea.konveio.com\/\">Maunakea Master Plan website<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/maunakea.konveio.com\/\">https:\/\/maunakea.konveio.com\/<\/a>). The online platform simplifies review and engagement by allowing commenting within the virtual document for greater public convenience. The website lists alternative methods to provide feedback including U.S. mail, voicemail and an online general comment form.<\/p>\n<p><abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> is accepting public comments on the draft Master Plan up through Tuesday, October 26, 2021.
