Tracy Irani<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The first speaker for the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at Mānoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources<\/a> (CTAHR<\/abbr>) Dean’s Distinguished Lectureship Series, Tracy Irani, will be giving a talk entitled “Bridging the Green Divide: The Role of Public Issues Education in Enhancing Public Understanding of Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Land Grant System,” on Tuesday, April 2, 2 p.m. at Kuykendall room 101. The lecture will focus on work conducted by the Center for Public Issues Education at the University of Florida\/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.<\/p>\n

Irani is a professor in the Department of Agricultural Education and Communication in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Florida. She teaches courses in agricultural communication theory and campaigns, organizational change management and critical and creative thinking. <\/p>\n

She is also the director of the university’s Center for Public Issues Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources and co-director of the Scientific Thinking and Educational Partnership Program. <\/p>\n

Irani’s talk will also be offered via 东精影业<\/abbr> Hālāwai<\/a> (Adobe Connect) for 东精影业<\/abbr> faculty, staff and students.<\/p>\n

The aim of the Dean’s Distinguished Lectureship Series, a new initiative of CTAHR<\/abbr>’s Dean Maria Gallo<\/strong>, is to bring outstanding scholars in food and energy systems; urban and natural ecosystems; human, animal and plant health; and family and consumer vitality to the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> to share their expertise in a spirit of collaboration and knowledge building.<\/p>\n
