Legendary University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at M\u0101noa football quarterback Colt Brennan\u2019s<\/strong> jersey No. 15 was officially retired during the halftime of the New Mexico State University game. 东精影业<\/abbr>\u2019s Colt Brennan Tribute game was on October 23, at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.<\/p>\n

Brennan joins Tommy Kaulukukui<\/strong> (No. 32) as the only retired numbers in program history. He wore No. 15 during a storied three-year career (2005–07) in which he set numerous NCAA<\/abbr>, conference and school records, and famously led the Rainbow Warriors to an undefeated regular season and Sugar Bowl appearance in 2007.<\/p>\n

Brennan suddenly passed away in May at the age of 37. Last month, the California native was inducted into the 东精影业<\/abbr>‘s Circle of Honor.<\/p>\n

His many accomplishments include breaking or tying 31 NCAA<\/abbr> records including career touchdown passes (131), single-season touchdown passes (58 in 2006) and most touchdowns responsible for in a career (146).<\/p>\n

In 2007, he finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting; was a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Award; and was named third-team Associated Press All-American. In 2006, he captured the Sammy Baugh Award; was a finalist for the Davey O’Brien Award and Cingular National Player of the Year; and was sixth in the Heisman race.<\/p>\n

During his illustrious career, he threw for 300 or more yards in 30 career games; 400 or more yards in 20 career games; and 500 or more yards in four games. He was a two-time Western Athletic Conference (WAC<\/abbr>)\u2008Offensive Player of the Year (2006 and \u201907) and two-time, first team all-WAC<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n
