The U.S.<\/abbr> Department of Veterans Affairs approved the University of Hawaiʻi–West<\/span> Oʻahu<\/span><\/a> as a training provider under a program that will help provide career opportunities for veteran students.<\/p>\n

东精影业<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span> was approved effective March 11, as a provider under the Veteran Rapid Retraining Assistance Program<\/a> (VRRAP<\/abbr>), which offers education and training for high-demand jobs to veterans who are unemployed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

“We’re very pleased to be approved as a provider,” said Jeffrey Moniz<\/strong>, vice chancellor for academic affairs at 东精影业<\/abbr> West Oʻahu.<\/span> “Becoming a participating VRRAP<\/abbr> educational institution fits very well with our growing efforts to address the needs of our veteran students.”<\/p>\n

According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, VRRAP<\/abbr> covers education and training programs\u2014including certificate programs\u2014approved under the GI<\/abbr> Bill and Veteran Employment Through Technology Education Courses that lead to high-demand jobs. The U.S.<\/abbr> Department of Labor determines the criteria for “high-demand job” for VRRAP<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n

“东精影业<\/abbr> West Oʻahu\u2019s<\/span> approval as a training provider for VRRAP<\/abbr> is an important contribution for the state and the UH System,” said Debora Halbert<\/strong>, 东精影业<\/abbr> System vice president for academic strategy. “东精影业<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span> has demonstrated their leadership in this area, and I am excited to see this opportunity open up for veterans living in Hawaiʻi.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Halbert continued, “With 东精影业<\/abbr> West Oʻahu\u2019s<\/span> inclusion, all 东精影业<\/abbr> campuses are now on the Department of Veterans Affairs list of approved educational programs.”<\/p>\n
