All <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in reviewing the three platforms being considered.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uhonline.hawaii.edu\/uh-lms-review\/team\">systemwide <abbr>LMS<\/abbr> Review Team<\/a> has been formed, and will be facilitated by <strong>Gloria Niles<\/strong>, director of online learning for the <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> System.<\/p>\n<p>Three <abbr>LMS<\/abbr> platforms have been selected for review including: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blackboard Learn Ultra by Anthology<\/li>\n<li>Brightspace by D2L<\/li>\n<li>Canvas by Instructure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All members of the <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> community can participate in the review process in multiple ways by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>东精影业ing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uhonline.hawaii.edu\/uh-lms-review\/vendors\">vendor demonstrations<\/a> synchronously via Zoom, or recorded for asynchronous viewing.<\/li>\n<li>东精影业ing <abbr>LMS<\/abbr> review <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uhonline.hawaii.edu\/uh-lms-review\/town-hall-sessions\">town hall sessions<\/a> offered throughout the month of February.<\/li>\n<li>Providing feedback through the <abbr>LMS<\/abbr> Consider.it forum, which will open in February.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uhonline.hawaii.edu\/uh-lms-review\/\"><abbr>LMS<\/abbr> Review website<\/a> to learn more about the <abbr>LMS<\/abbr> Review process, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uhonline.hawaii.edu\/uh-lms-review\/faqs\">FAQs<\/a>,  and specific dates, times and Zoom information for the vendor demonstrations and the town hall sessions. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/laptop-grnc-2-feature-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"woman looking at laptop\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-125963\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/laptop-grnc-2-feature-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/laptop-grnc-2-feature-130x130.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/laptop-grnc-2-feature.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Since 2007, a version of Sakai, referred to by <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> as Laulima, has been the official <abbr>LMS<\/abbr> supported by <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> Information Technology Services and used across all 10 campuses of the <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> System. Although it has served <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> well, use of Sakai has diminished significantly throughout the last five years. Consequently, fewer developers, publishers and third-party tool vendors are working with that <abbr>LMS<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n<p>There are many advantages for a single <abbr>LMS<\/abbr> platform being used systemwide. Most importantly, students have a familiar experience in the <abbr>LMS<\/abbr> when taking courses on different <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> campuses.
