University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at Hilo men\u2019s tennis<\/a> player Filippo Di Perna<\/strong> and softball<\/a> player Malia Risdall<\/strong> earned KTA<\/abbr> Super Stores Superstars of the Week awards for March 7–21.<\/p>\n

Di Perna, a freshman, notched both doubles and singles victories to help the Vulcans earn two points in a 4-1 win over No. 15 Midwestern State University on March 15. Additionally, his singles victory against No. 35 Metropolitan State University of Denver on March 19 was the Vulcans\u2019 lone point across their last three matches.<\/p>\n

Risdall, a fourth-year pitcher, earned her first career win with a complete-game performance in a 4-2 victory over Azusa Pacific University on March 14. She also followed up with another complete-game victory in a 5-4 win over Holy Names University to help the Vulcans to a four-game win streak.<\/p>\n

The KTA<\/abbr> Superstars award<\/a> names one male and one female Vulcans student-athlete each week, highlighting their accomplishments from the prior week.<\/p>\n
