Hosted by the friends of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amygreenwell.garden\/\">Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden<\/a>, hundreds of people gathered at the garden in Captain Cook on <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Island to celebrate Hawaiian culture and natural history with a variety of activities and speakers. This event was the first the garden has held in more than three years.<\/p>\n<p>The University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> at M\u0101noa <a href=\"https:\/\/cms.ctahr.hawaii.edu\/\">College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources<\/a> (<abbr>CTAHR<\/abbr>) contributed to the festival with three educational booths.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/cms.ctahr.hawaii.edu\/uhmgprogram\/HOME\/West-Hawaii\">West <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Master Gardeners<\/a> shared information about the two-lined spittlebug, avocado lace bug, little fire ants and methods for <span aria-label=\"ohia\">&#699;\u014dhi&#699;a<\/span> seed collection.\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Noa Lincoln<\/strong> and his students from the <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/ctahr\/tpss\/\">Department of Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences<\/a> presented a display showcasing traditional sugarcane varieties, samples of fresh-squeezed cane juice and <a href=\"https:\/\/uhpress.hawaii.edu\/title\/ko-an-ethnobotanical-guide-to-hawaiian-sugarcane-cultivars\/\">copies of Lincoln\u2019s book, <em>Ko<\/em><\/a> on traditional Hawaiian cultivators and uses of sugarcane.\n<\/li>\n<li>Extension forester <strong>J.B.
