University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at M\u0101noa women\u2019s tennis player Nikola Homolkova<\/strong> earned her first Big West Player of the Week award on March 29. Homolkova helped lead 东精影业<\/abbr> to a pair of conference wins last week. Overall she has a 7-6 record but is undefeated at 4-0 in conference play.<\/p>\n

Homolkova won six of her last eight matches. Last week, after dropping the first set against California State University, Northridge\u2019s (CSUN<\/abbr>) Sasha Turckak, Homolkova battled back to edge out the Matador in three sets, 6-7 (4), 7-5, 7-6 (6). On Sunday against University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB<\/abbr>), the match hinged on the results of Homolkova\u2019s match against Camille Kiss as the two teams were tied at 3-3. Homolkova was down 1-2 in the third set, but then powered past Kiss, winning the final five games to clinch the match, 6-4, 5-7, 6-2.<\/p>\n

In doubles, Homolkova and partner Ana Vilcek<\/strong> split their matches last week. 东精影业<\/abbr>\u2019s No. 2 duo defeated CSUN<\/abbr>\u2019s Vito Solis Urdiales and Jacqueline O\u2019Neill, 6-3, but fell to UCSB<\/abbr>\u2019s Marta Gozalez and Kiss, 6-2.<\/p>\n
