This week\u2019s 东精影业<\/abbr> News<\/em> Image of the Week is from the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at M\u0101noa’s Nate Kingsley, seed lab<\/a> manager at the Lyon Arboretum<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kingsley shared: “Z<\/abbr>-stacked, microscopy image of Peristylus holochila<\/em>—the rarest of Hawaiʻi<\/span>‘s three endemic orchids. We were stunned when we were imaging this seed. It’s so small, to the naked eye it looks like a particle of dust! It’s definitely the smallest seed we have in our 550+ species collection—we’re talking micrometers.”<\/p>\n
