This year\u2019s University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> foodbank drive raised $60,904 in monetary donations and 6,332 pounds of food for 2023. According to the Hawaiʻi<\/span> Foodbank<\/a>, the university\u2019s contribution equals to more than 136,000 meals that the Hawaiʻi<\/span> Foodbank is able to provide.<\/p>\n

“It’s heartening to see our university step up again and again to support those in need in our community,” said 东精影业<\/abbr> President David Lassner. “I would like to thank everyone in our 东精影业<\/abbr> ʻohana who participated for their continuing generosity and concern for others.”<\/p>\n

The issue of hunger continues to be a major challenge facing the community, affecting those most vulnerable, and the impact of contributions to the Hawaiʻi<\/span> Foodbank will not go unnoticed by those in need within the community.<\/p>\n

“One in six people in Hawaiʻi<\/span> continue to struggle with hunger daily—making it a lot closer than we might realize. It impacts our neighbors, our friends, our families and many students of all ages,” said Laura Kay Rand, vice president and chief impact officer at Hawaiʻi<\/span> Foodbank.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re incredibly grateful for the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span>, who recently participated in the 24th annual State Employee\u2019s Food Drive,” Rand said. “This year, more than 60 colleges and schools, offices, departments and entities from across the 东精影业<\/abbr> System participated in the food drive. It was a true demonstration of the incredible things that can happen when we all come together.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
