I wanted to let you know what we are doing now and what we are planning to accomplish in the future to help our students affected by the fires on Maui.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For our current students affected by the fires<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>We are addressing immediate needs and long-term needs in parallel. All of the affected students will remain enrolled in their classes for this and future semesters regardless of their current financial situation. We are also pausing the requirement to pay their university bill while we assess their needs.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, we are focused on meeting their most immediate basic needs as a student, including room\/board, supplies, laptops, mental health counseling, and academic advising. To the greatest extent possible under these difficult circumstances, we very much want our students to be able to focus on their courses, and on making the most of being a member of our <abbr title=\"东精影业\">东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa &#699;ohana.<\/p>\n<p>The Stupski Foundation has worked with the <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> Foundation to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uhfoundation.org\/give\/giving-opportunity\/help-maui\">provide $1 million to help these students<\/a>. <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> is providing an initial $2,000 payment to all of those students who live in the Lahaina zip codes for all 10 campuses. <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> Foundation is also collecting donations that will be given directly to students, faculty and staff who were affected by the fires.<\/p>\n<p>In the coming months we will focus on finding other ways to help those affected by this catastrophe.
