A stunning video showcasing the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> “from Poʻipū<\/span> (on Kauaʻi<\/span>) to P\u0101hoa (on Hawaiʻi<\/span> Island)” illustrates the passion and purpose of the historic $1 billion For 东精影业<\/abbr> \u2022 For Hawaiʻi<\/span><\/strong><\/a> campaign. 东精影业<\/abbr> Foundation<\/a> launched the public phase of the most ambitious comprehensive fundraising campaign<\/a> in Hawaiʻi<\/span>\u2019s history on November 1, to raise $1 billion for current and future students, faculty and researchers at all 10 东精影业<\/abbr> campuses.<\/p>\n

“Our vision was to create a uniquely 东精影业<\/abbr> video, grounded in a strong sense of place and authenticity. A video that inspires a deep sense of connection to and pride in 东精影业<\/abbr>. We focused on the people of 东精影业<\/abbr>, their diverse voices and expertise, and shared some of the depth and breadth of 东精影业<\/abbr>\u2019s impact in our words, through b-roll and the aspirational script,” said 东精影业<\/abbr> Foundation CEO and 东精影业<\/abbr> Vice President Tim Dolan. “东精影业<\/abbr> truly is the place where we move from mystery to discovery, from problem to solution, from aspiration to graduation. I\u2019m so grateful to our 东精影业<\/abbr> students and faculty who participated in this ambitious video project, and so incredibly proud of the 东精影业<\/abbr> Foundation team who produced this, all of whom are also 东精影业<\/abbr> alumni!”<\/p>\n

The video features 22 voices and multiple location shoots, beginning with Institute for Astronomy Director Doug Simons on Maunakea at sunset, and concluding with 东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa marine biology graduate student Maluhia Kinimaka on Moku o Loʻe<\/span> (Coconut Island).<\/p>\n

东精影业<\/abbr> talent behind the scenes<\/h2>\n

Dolan and 东精影业<\/abbr> Foundation Associate Vice President of Communication Margot Schrire provided vision and direction. Four 东精影业<\/abbr> Foundation staff members, who are also 东精影业<\/abbr> alumni, stewarded the project from concept to completion.<\/p>\n

Writer Michell Dwyer (东精影业<\/abbr> Hilo) developed the script in July and August. A list of on-camera participants was created with the help of the 东精影业<\/abbr> Foundation fundraising team. In September, three weeks of shooting video across the state commenced with Associate Director of E-Communications\/Multimedia Scott Nishi (Leeward CC<\/abbr>, Kapiʻolani<\/span> CC<\/abbr>, 东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa) behind the camera, assisted by Web Manager Brien Ing (东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa). This was followed by three weeks of editing and post-production. Brand Manager Stacia Garlach (who earned a PhD<\/abbr> from 东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa last year) provided graphics support throughout.<\/p>\n

Nishi said, “We are extremely humbled and grateful for the response to the campaign launch video. The 22 university voices that represented our 东精影业<\/abbr> ʻohana in this production deserve all the recognition. Individually, they felt insignificant, with a single line of dialogue. United, their lines told the story of pride in our university.”<\/p>\n
