The celebration brought together more than 100 students from Hawaiian language education schools on <span aria-label=\"Kauai,\">Kaua&#699;i,<\/span> teachers, <span aria-label=\"ohana\">&#699;ohana<\/span> and more than 30 community organizations.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/kauai-niihau-mahina-3-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Keiki learning at a table\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-191968\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/kauai-niihau-mahina-3-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/kauai-niihau-mahina-3-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/kauai-niihau-mahina-3.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>The <span aria-label=\"KauaiNiihau\">Kaua&#699;i-Niihau<\/span> event showcased <span aria-label=\"olelo\">&#699;&#333;lelo<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> through music, hula, storytelling, games, student performances and a Hawaiian language speech competition hosted by <span aria-label=\"Aha\">&#699;Aha<\/span> Hui <span aria-label=\"Olelo\">&#699;&#332;lelo<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Hawaii.\">Hawai&#699;i.<\/span> Interactive booths featured aloha <span aria-label=\"aina\">&#699;&#257;ina<\/span> activities for keiki and adults to be immersed in a language rich experience.<\/p>\n<p>Led by the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> at M&#257;noa <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/hshk\/\"><span aria-label=\"Hawaiinuiakea\">Hawai&#699;inui&#257;kea<\/span> School of Hawaiian Knowledge<\/a>, Kanaeokana, Kamehameha Schools Kai&#257;ulu and others, the event was the second Ola Ka <span aria-label=\"I\">&#699;&#298;<\/span> in a series of Hawaiian language fairs happening throughout <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> in February.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>More Mahina <span aria-label=\"Olelo\">&#699;&#332;lelo<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span><\/strong>  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2024\/02\/06\/mahina-olelo-hawaii-language\/\">Mahina <span aria-label=\"Olelo\">&#699;&#332;lelo<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i:<\/span> Revitalizing Hawaiian language<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2024\/02\/06\/hawaiian-word-30-year-journey\/\">Tune in: Hawaiian word of the day\u2019s 30-year journey<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/kauai-niihau-mahina-7-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"Keiki learning at a table\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-191972\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/kauai-niihau-mahina-7-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/kauai-niihau-mahina-7-130x130.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/kauai-niihau-mahina-7.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>&ldquo;We love organizing these kinds of events as <span aria-label=\"Hawaiinuiakea\">Hawai&#699;inui&#257;kea<\/span> and <span aria-label=\"Aha\">&#699;Aha<\/span> Hui <span aria-label=\"Olelo\">&#699;&#332;lelo<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> because we need to hear our language in all different spaces,&rdquo;
