The ¶«¾«Ó°Òµ at Mānoa pitcher Randy Abshier earned Big West Pitcher of the Week recognition on March 11, making it the second in his career.<\/p>\n

The pitcher turned in a strong outing March 9, against Rice University, matching a career high with 11 strikeouts over seven innings while holding them to just a run on two hits with only one walk. The senior did not allow a hit over the first 5.1 innings and has now matched a career high in strikeouts in two of his last three starts.<\/p>\n

Absier has struck out 31 batters over his last three starts, the most in a three-game stretch by a Rainbow Warrior pitcher. Abshier has also fanned at least nine batters in six of his last seven starts at home dating back to last year.<\/p>\n
