Josh Green appointed Michael Miyahira to the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/offices\/bor\/\">Board of Regents<\/a> (<abbr>BOR<\/abbr>), as the <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> County member. He is the owner of Business Strategies, a company that provides consulting services to family owned and closely held businesses and focuses on succession planning, family business governance issues and strategic planning.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to 2000, Miyahira spent more than 24 years with one of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\u2019s\">Hawai&#699;i\u2019s<\/span> largest commercial banks and spent the bulk of his banking career as a senior credit officer and manager of several of the bank\u2019s business. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce, the Hawai\u02bbi Island Chamber of Commerce and the Island of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> YMCA.<\/p>\n<p>If confirmed (by the state senate), Miyahira would be seated immediately as the holdover member, succeeding Alapaki Nahale-a who resigned from the <abbr title=\"东精影业\">东精影业<\/abbr> <abbr>BOR<\/abbr> earlier this month.
