The <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M&#257;noa cast will take center stage at Gifu Seiry\u016b Bunka Plaza in Gifu City on June 1, followed by a performance at the historic Aioi-za in Mizunami on June 2. both of which are already sold out.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We\u2019re able to do what we\u2019re doing because there\u2019s literally 100 years of history and community and support and people that are passionate about this art. (Photo credit: Joshua Barnes)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In preparation of the anticipated production and tour, the <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M&#257;noa <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/liveonstage\/\">Department of Theatre and Dance<\/a> invited award-winning kabuki actors to train <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M&#257;noa students on-campus this spring. Student actors first learned the play in Japanese to help bolster proper intonation and delivery. <\/p>\n<p>Robert Morris, an <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/liveonstage\/theatre\/graduate-admissions\/\">acting <abbr title=\"master of fine arts\">MFA<\/abbr> candidate<\/a> at <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M&#257;noa, emphasized the value of this hands-on experience.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;You can\u2019t learn it from books,&rdquo; said Morris. &ldquo;You can\u2019t learn it from videos, you have to be in the space with the people doing stuff. And so to have that is the thing.
