It featured representatives from <abbr title=\"东精影业\">东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa, <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span>, Leeward and <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> <abbr title=\"Community College\">CC<\/abbr>, and Chaminade University. I also enjoyed meeting students from other schools,&rdquo; said Briseis Contemplo, a senior from Pearl City High School.<\/p>\n<p>Breakout sessions provided hands-on learning experiences on building strong teacher-student relationships, using effective classroom tools, and embracing multilingualism. One session encouraged participants to become culturally responsive educators, grounded in Hawaiian culture, through an activity based on the Hawaiian <span aria-label=\"Olelo\">&#699;&#332;lelo<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Noeau\">No&#699;eau<\/span> (proverb), &ldquo;<span aria-label=\"Hookahi\">Ho&#699;okahi<\/span> n&#333; l&#257; o ka malihini&rdquo; (A stranger only for a day).<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The students really enjoyed this year\u2019s breakout sessions.
