This week\u2019s 东精影业<\/abbr> News<\/em> Image of the Week is from University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at M\u0101noa’s Melissa Price, an associate professor in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resilience.<\/p>\n

Price shared: “This is an Aeʻo<\/span>, or Hawaiian Stilt. I took the photo near the Kaʻelepulu<\/span> Canal in Kailua. Hawaiian Stilts were downlisted to Threatened status in 2021. They nest in mudflats and utilize wetlands and loʻi<\/span> to nest, with a nesting season that peaks from January to May. Our lab (Hawaiʻi<\/span> Wildlife Ecology Lab<\/a>) has been doing nesting, habitat use, and genetics studies to support conservation efforts.”<\/p>\n
