This cutting-edge traveling exhibit delves into the wonders of ancient oceans and its magnificent creatures at <span aria-label=\"Imiloa\u2019s\">&#699;Imiloa\u2019s<\/span> Exhibit Hall located on the <a href=\"https:\/\/hilo.hawaii.edu\/\">University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> at Hilo<\/a> campus from February 7 through May 4.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/hilo-imiloa-dinosaurs-2-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"dinosaur exhibit\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-210219\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/hilo-imiloa-dinosaurs-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/hilo-imiloa-dinosaurs-2-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/hilo-imiloa-dinosaurs-2.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This exhibit brings the mysteries of prehistoric life to the forefront, connecting science, technology and imagination,&rdquo; said <span aria-label=\"Kaiu\">Ka&#699;iu<\/span> Kimura, executive director at <span aria-label=\"Imiloa.\">&#699;Imiloa.<\/span> &ldquo;We are excited to inspire curiosity and provide a unique opportunity to explore the world through the lens of a paleontologist.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The immersive experience features lifelike animatronics, fossil replicas, and interactive displays that bring prehistoric giants like mosasaurus and tyrannosaurus rex to life.<\/p>\n<h2>Exhibit features:<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/hilo-imiloa-dinosaurs-3-214x300.jpg\" alt=\"dinosaur exhibit\" width=\"214\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-210220\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/hilo-imiloa-dinosaurs-3-214x300.jpg 214w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/hilo-imiloa-dinosaurs-3-93x130.jpg 93w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/hilo-imiloa-dinosaurs-3.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 214px) 100vw, 214px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Immersive theater experience<\/strong>: Board the &ldquo;Time Roamer&rdquo; for a 360-degree, 17-minute voyage through Mesozoic oceans, encountering marine giants and narrowly escaping the asteroid that changed history.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Interactive displays<\/strong>: Engage in hands-on activities such as piecing together ancient landmasses with the Pangea Puzzle or unearthing fossils at a simulated fossil dig.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lifelike animatronics<\/strong>: Meet iconic creatures like the ankylosaurus and cryptoclidus, brought to life with realistic motion and sound.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Special programs and events<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Dinos at Dusk<\/em>: Explore the exhibit after dark with exclusive evening programs on select Thursdays. Some nights are tailored for guests 21 and over.<\/li>\n<li><em>Paleontology Lab<\/em>: Keiki in grades K&#8211;5 can dive into fossils and prehistoric life every Wednesday in an interactive after-school program.<\/li>\n<li><em>Spring Break Fun<\/em>: March 17&#8211;21, the H&#257;lau Lamak&#363; Spring Break Program offers keiki a week of creative, hands-on activities inspired by prehistoric times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span aria-label=\"Imiloa\u2019s\">&#699;Imiloa\u2019s<\/span> <em>Expedition Dinosaur<\/em> also features dinosaur-themed planetarium shows such as <em>Dinosaurs of Antarctica 8K<\/em> and <em>T. Rex<\/em>.
