Each year, the <span aria-label=\"Hoopasifika\">Ho&#699;opasifika<\/span> Gala celebrates <abbr>PCF<\/abbr> alumni who have made significant contributions to their communities and professions.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This year\u2019s <span aria-label=\"Hoopasifika\">Ho&#699;opasifika<\/span> honorees represent some of the most accomplished Fellows to have come through our program,&rdquo; said Hannemann. &ldquo;They have established themselves as among the most trusted leaders in our community.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<h2>Diane Paloma<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_211248\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-211248\" style=\"width: 214px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/system-bor-paloma-diane-214x300.jpg\" alt=\"Diane Paloma headshot\" width=\"214\" height=\"300\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-211248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/system-bor-paloma-diane-214x300.jpg 214w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/system-bor-paloma-diane-93x130.jpg 93w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/system-bor-paloma-diane.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 214px) 100vw, 214px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-211248\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Diane Paloma<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Paloma, a 2016 <abbr>PCF<\/abbr> Fellow, has served on the <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/bor\">Board of Regents<\/a> since July 2021. She has dedicated her career to advancing healthcare access, particularly for Native Hawaiian communities. As president and <abbr title=\"chief executive officer\">CEO<\/abbr> of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Dental Service, she leads efforts to provide affordable dental care for <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> families. She previously served as <abbr>CEO<\/abbr> of the King Lunalilo Trust and Home and directed the Native Hawaiian Health Program at The Queen\u2019s Health Systems.<\/p>\n<p>A <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> graduate and former faculty member, Paloma earned her <abbr title=\"master of business administration\">MBA<\/abbr> from <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa and a <abbr title=\"doctor of philosophy\">PhD<\/abbr> in healthcare administration from Capella University. She has been deeply involved in Native Hawaiian culture, completing the <span aria-label=\"uniki\">&#699;uniki<\/span> process in hula and serving as a h\u0101lau leader.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I am honored to receive this recognition alongside such dedicated leaders of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>,&rdquo; said Paloma. &ldquo;All of us have a connection to the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>. She joined <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> in 2015, bringing with her extensive legal experience from both the private and public sectors. She previously served as corporation counsel for the City and County of Honolulu and as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of First Hawaiian Bank.<\/p>\n<p>Born and raised in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>, Okinaga attended <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa and Pomona College before earning her law degree from Stanford Law School. Since 2018, she has served the community as a member of the Honolulu Police Commission.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It is truly an honor to be recognized alongside such accomplished leaders,&rdquo; said Okinaga. &ldquo;The Pacific Century Fellows program has had a profound impact on my professional journey, shaping my approach to servant leadership and working hard to pay it forward. I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to our community and to support the next generation of leaders in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Other honorees at this year\u2019s gala include former <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Gov.
