This week\u2019s 东精影业<\/abbr> News<\/em> Image of the Week is from 东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa’s Melissa Takahashi an undergraduate in psychology and sociology.<\/p>\n

Takahashi shared, “‘Disconnection in the Age of Hyperconnection’ I drew this digital artwork for my final creative project in SOC<\/abbr>341. The visual language of the piece—its claustrophobic composition, red color palette, and suggestion of being ‘plugged in’ by the overhead wiring—reflects overstimulation, commodified connection, and a deep sense of emotional detachment. Through this work, I wanted to express how digital platforms can foster loneliness despite the appearance of constant connectivity.”<\/p>\n
