The University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at M\u0101noa Athletics\u2019 annual Giving Week: Our Team. Hawaiʻi<\/span>\u2019s Team, drew more than 1,200 donors and raised over $1.34 million to benefit 东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa\u2019s student-athletes.<\/p>\n

Funds will enhance scholarships, academic resources, nutrition, mental health services and athletic facilities.<\/p>\n

“Thanks to the generosity of our community, including transformative support from alumni Gabe and Shirley Lee<\/a>, this has become our most successful effort yet,” said 东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Athletics Director Matt Elliott.<\/p>\n

A highlight of the week was the Hawaiʻi<\/span>\u2019s Team Drive telethon, broadcast live on KHON2<\/abbr> with support from ʻAhahui<\/span> Koa \u0100nuenue, 东精影业<\/abbr> Foundation and 东精影业<\/abbr> Athletics. The event raised nearly $90,000 and featured stories from student-athletes and coaches, including Laura Beeman, Robyn Ah Mow and Landon Sims.<\/p>\n

东精影业<\/abbr> President Wendy Hensel noted, “Giving Week highlighted the university\u2019s mission in action. Every contribution directly supports excellence and expands access for our student-athletes.”<\/p>\n

Hawaiʻi<\/span> Gov.<\/abbr> Josh Green, Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi, 东精影业<\/abbr> President Wendy Hensel and former coaches June Jones and Dave Shoji also joined alumni and community leaders to express their support.<\/p>\n

The campaign featured cultural programming, including a Sam Choy\u2019s In The Kitchen segment on nutrition, and appearances by alumni athletes such as Kolten Wong, Nani Cockett and Artie Wilson. Messages from volleyball greats Yuval Katz and Costas Theocharidis, and a musical performance by entertainer Henry Kapono added to the celebration.<\/p>\n

Contributions came from across 32 states, and will benefit all 21 东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa teams.<\/p>\n
