The scholarship is available to seniors graduating from a public high school or charter school on <span lang=\"haw\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> who directly enroll at <span lang=\"haw\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;<span lang=\"haw\">Ho&#699;olei<\/span> is about opening doors, removing financial barriers, and helping our local students take the next step toward their future right here at home,&rdquo; said <span lang=\"haw\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr> Chancellor Margaret Sanchez.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to generous donations, along with additional support from the Stupski Foundation, the <span lang=\"haw\">Ho&#699;olei<\/span> fund has more than $100,000 available to support students.<\/p>\n<h2>How to apply<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/kauai-hoolei-2025-1-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Students with microphones and guitars\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-227544\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/kauai-hoolei-2025-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/kauai-hoolei-2025-1-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/kauai-hoolei-2025-1.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><br \/>\n<!--\n\n<p>Students must <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kauai.hawaii.edu\/\">apply to <span lang=\"haw\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr> online<\/a> and complete the 2026&#8211;27 <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\">Free Application for Federal Student Aid<\/a> (<abbr>FAFSA<\/abbr>). Eligible students will automatically be considered for the <span lang=\"haw\">Ho&#699;olei<\/span> Scholarship once both steps are completed.<\/p>\n\n --><\/p>\n<p>Students already qualify for direct admission to <span lang=\"haw\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr> through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/direct2uh\/\">Direct2<abbr>东精影业<\/abbr><\/a>&#8212;the University of <span lang=\"haw\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>\u2019s streamlined admissions initiative that gives <span lang=\"haw\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> public high school seniors direct access to <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> campuses based on their <abbr>GPA<\/abbr>, without the need for a separate application process. Students should complete their <a href=\"https:\/\/star.hawaii.edu\/shortapp\/directadmit\/verify\">Direct2<abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> Campus Choice Form<\/a> by May 1 and also complete the 2026&#8211;27 <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\">Free Application for Federal Student Aid<\/a> (FAFSA), after which they will be considered for the <span lang=\"haw\">Ho&#699;olei<\/span> Scholarship covering first-year tuition once those steps are finished.<\/p>\n<p>For most students, financial aid already covers the full cost of tuition at <span lang=\"haw\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr>. For students with remaining tuition costs after aid is applied, the <span lang=\"haw\">Ho&#699;olei<\/span> Scholarship will cover the rest of their first-year tuition, allowing them to focus on their education instead of finances.<\/p>\n<h2>Supporting students<\/h2>\n<p>In addition to tuition support, <span lang=\"haw\">Ho&#699;olei<\/span> scholars gain access to on-campus employment opportunities, providing a paycheck and valuable work experience while staying on island and enrolled in classes.<\/p>\n<p>Students are also encouraged to apply for additional support through the <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaii.edu\/costs\/how-to-apply\"><abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> Common Scholarship<\/a> and <span lang=\"haw\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr>&rsquo;s first-year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kauai.hawaii.edu\/waialeale-project\"><span lang=\"haw\">Wai&#699;ale&#699;ale<\/span> Project<\/a>, which offers scholarships and guidance to help students navigate their first year of college.<\/p>\n<h2>Direct2东精影业<\/h2>\n<p>In October, <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> and the <span lang=\"haw\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> State Department of Education launched <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/direct2uh\/\">Direct2东精影业<\/a>, a new initiative that simplifies the college admissions process and expands access to higher education for <span lang=\"haw\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>&rsquo;s public high school seniors.<\/p>\n<p>Students graduating in the spring 2026 are automatically eligible to enroll at all seven <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> community colleges, including <span lang=\"haw\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr>.
