Shortly after the governor\u2019s announcement, the <span lang=\"haw\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> State Department of Education announced the closure of all public schools.<\/p>\n<p>The closure is a statewide precautionary measure in response to increasing wind threats, existing power outages and restrictions on local air travel.
