The Candidate Advisory Council (CAC) for the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> Board of Regents has presented a list of candidates to Governor David Ige to fill one Maui County seat and one City and County of Honolulu seat for five-year appointments, beginning July 1, 2015, subject to confirmation by the Hawaiʻi<\/span> State Senate.<\/p>\n

City and County of Honolulu seat (currently filled by Regent Chuck Gee<\/strong>, whose term will end on 6\/30\/15)<\/p>\n

    Maui County seat (currently filled by interim Regent Helen Nielsen<\/strong> whose term, contingent on  Hawai’i State Senate confirmation, is through 6\/30\/15)<\/p>\n

      Interim regents whose terms are also subject to confirmation by the Hawaiʻi<\/span> State Senate are Simeon Acoba<\/strong> (appointed through June 30, 2017); Dileep Bal (appointed through June 30, 2017); and Peter Hoffmann (appointed through June 30, 2016).  These interim appointments were made by Governor Neil Abercrombie in October 2014 to replace regents who had resigned in July 2014.<\/p>\n
