Conservation groups, student clubs, artists and musicians are coming together at the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> Maui College<\/a> to celebrate Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. The activities kicks off at 11 a.m. on the Great Lawn, with a native tree planting ceremony and blessing, followed by music, games and information booths until 2 p.m.<\/p>\n

东精影业<\/abbr> Maui College students have taken the lead in organizing the event on campus this year. The Earth Day celebration will focus on fostering conversations with businesses, community organizations and students about sustainability and celebrating Earth Day through education, music and play.<\/p>\n

Entertainment will include live music from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., a photo booth, a large Earth ball game, volleyball, tug-of-war and more. Artistic expression is encouraged with free write or sketch activities, photography, video and a wall exhibit of artworks from Maui Open Studios<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Music instructor Anne Ku<\/strong> will lead an Earth Day Music Jam at 9 a.m. and again at 6 p.m. in Kupaʻa<\/span> 104. “Earth Day Jam is open to the public. We encourage everyone to bring your own instrument or join us on one of the 22 digital pianos and two acoustic grand pianos to make music,” Ku said.<\/p>\n

“We want to raise awareness about how students can get involved in supporting our island. The whole community is invited to join us for workshops, interactive activities, networking and fun,” said 东精影业<\/abbr> Maui College student Pali O’Connell, Earth Day coordinator for the UH Maui College Student ʻOhana<\/span> for Sustainability club.<\/p>\n
