This is the first class of nursing students to graduate since the school began accepting applications to the doctor of nursing program in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Our students receive applied experiences that educates and trains primary healthcare providers who are grounded in community and population-based health promotion that help address health disparities and improve community capacity,&rdquo; explains <strong>Kay Daub<\/strong>, professor of nursing and director of the nursing school.<\/p>\n<p>The late Senator Daniel K. Inouye was behind the program to improve healthcare in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>.
